  • Round 1: Work into the remaining open stitches and make 5 puff stitches on each side for a total of 10 puff stitches, chaining 2 between each puff stitch
  • Puff stitch method: Chain 2, work multiple unfinished double crochets into the same stitch, then pull through all loops
  • Rounds 2 and 3: Work one puff stitch into each chain 2 space from the previous round, followed by a chain 2
  • Slip stitch to finish the final round and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for attaching the tail

Tail

  • Work 4 double crochets around the post of the puff stitch to form the base
  • Continue adding double crochets around the edges of the puff stitches to shape the tail base
  • Final round: Work a wavy pattern by making one double crochet, chain 3, and one double crochet in each stitch around the tail area
  • Secure the tail firmly to the body using the yarn tail

Comb

  • Attach red yarn at the top center of the head
  • First peak: Chain 3, make 2 double crochets in the same stitch, chain 2, slip stitch into the next stitch

  • Weave in and hide all remaining yarn ends securely inside the head or body
