Materials
- Yarn: Bernat Softee Baby Chunky (approx. 4 skeins for a 30x35 inch blanket)
- Hook: P/11.5 mm
- Finished Size: 30x35 inches
Starting the Blanket (Foundation Chain & Row 1)
- Chain a multiple of 2 plus 1 (example uses 81).
- In the 3rd chain from the hook, work a cluster stitch: Yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, insert into same chain, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all 5 loops on hook.
- Chain 1 to secure the cluster.
- Skip the next chain.
- Repeat: Cluster, chain 1, skip 1 across the row.
- In the last chain, work 1 single crochet (SC).
- Chain 2 and turn your work.
The Repeat Row (Row 2 and Onwards)
- The chain 2 at the beginning counts as the first half of a cluster.
- Work the first cluster into the first chain 1 space between clusters of the previous row.
- Chain 1 to secure.
- Repeat: Cluster, chain 1 in each chain 1 space across.
- Finish the row with a single crochet into the top of the turning chain from the previous row.
- Chain 2 and turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until the blanket reaches your desired length (example: 50 rows for 35 inches).
