Materials
- Yarn: Milk cotton yarn
- Purple (body)
- Light orange (mouth and hair)
- Hook: 2.5 mm crochet hook
- Accessories: Scissors, stitch marker, googly eyes, keychain ring
Body (Purple Yarn)
- Round 1: Magic ring, 6 sc. Close ring, sl st to first stitch.
- Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around (12 sc). Sl st, ch 1.
- Round 3: 1 sc, 2 sc in next stitch repeat around (18 sc).
- Rounds 4–6: 18 sc around to build height.
Round 7 (Mouth Opening):
- Work 5 sc
- Ch 8, skip 8 stitches
- Work 5 sc in remaining stitches
Round 8:
- 5 sc
- 8 sc along the chain
- 5 sc (18 sc total)
- Round 9: 18 sc around
- Round 10: Decrease evenly using sc2tog (about 6 decreases) to close bottom
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Step 2: Mouth (Light Orange Yarn)
Attach yarn around the mouth opening.
- Round 1: 8 sc on one side, 2 sc in each corner, 8 sc on the other side, 2 sc in corners
- Round 2: Increase in corner stitches for a pouty effect
- Round 3: Sc around, working 4 sc in each corner area to add volume
- Round 4: Decrease at corners to pull lips inward, sl st and fasten off
Step 3: Hair / Braids
- Cut about 5 strands of orange yarn per side
- Loop strands through the second round of the body on each side
- Braid the strands and tie ends with yarn to form pigtails
Step 4: Assembly
- Eyes: Glue googly eyes above the mouth
- Keychain: Attach a keychain ring or chain through the top of the head
