Materials

  • Teal and Pink yarn (Worsted weight)
  • Crochet hook (size suited to yarn)
  • Polyfill stuffing
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Crochet Terminology Used

  • Ch: Chain
  • SC: Single Crochet
  • Inc: Increase (2 SC in same stitch)
  • Dec: Decrease (SC 2 together)
  • SL Knot: Slip Knot

The Shell (Pink Yarn)

  • Make a SL Knot and chain base + 1.
  • SC in second chain from hook and across.
  • Ch 1, turn. Inc in first stitch, SC across, Inc in last stitch for several rows.
  • Work straight SC rows for the middle section.
  • Begin decreasing by Dec over first two stitches, SC across, Dec at end until shape tapers.
  • Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

The Body (Teal Yarn)

  • Make a SL Knot and chain base + 1.
  • SC in second chain from hook and across.

Assembly (Sewing and Stuffing)

  • Center the Body piece on top of the Shell and sew around, leaving an opening. Stuff and close.
  • Sew two Head pieces together, leaving a gap to stuff and attach to the body.
  • Embroider or sew eyes before closing.
  • Attach Forefeet, Rear Feet, and Tail using the long yarn tails.
  • Secure all ends and trim excess yarn.
