Supplies Used

  • Two colors of yarn, one for the sole and one for the straps
  • Crochet hook suitable for your yarn, usually 2.0mm to 3.0mm
  • Keychain ring
  • Scissors

Sole Instructions Make 2

  • Chain 9
  • Start in the second chain from the hook and make single crochet in the next 7 stitches
  • In the last chain make 4 single crochet to form the toe curve
  • Work single crochet along the other side of the chain in the next 6 stitches
  • In the last stitch make 2 single crochet and slip stitch to join
  • Chain 1 and make single crochet in the same stitch
  • Make single crochet in the next 6 stitches
  • Make 2 single crochet in each of the next 4 stitches around the toe curve
  • Make single crochet in the next 7 stitches
  • Make 2 single crochet in the last stitch and slip stitch to join
  • Fasten off and weave in ends
  • Repeat to create a second identical sole

Joining the Sole

  • Place the two sole pieces together with wrong sides facing
  • Join yarn and slip stitch through both layers evenly around the entire edge
  • Fasten off and secure ends

Strap Instructions

  • Identify the center stitch at the toe and the two side attachment points
  • Join strap color yarn at one side of the sole
  • Chain 8 or 9 depending on desired strap length
  • Slip stitch into the center toe stitch
  • Chain 8 or 9 again
  • Slip stitch into the opposite side of the sole
  • Slip stitch back across the chains if thicker straps are desired
  • Fasten off and secure all yarn ends

 

Finishing

  • Hide all yarn tails neatly inside the sole
  • Attach a keychain ring to the heel area or the top strap
  • Adjust straps if needed for balance and appearance
